The abrogation of Articles 370 and 35A of the Constitution, which conferred special status on Jammu and Kashmir, and the draconian moves that followed bring to the fire the Sangh Parivar scheme to establish a Hindu Rashtra.

DURING A PROTEST after Friday prayers in Srinagar on August 9. Curfew was eased to allow residents to pray at mosques. Some protest broke out in the region despite the presence of thousand of security forces in the streets.
